Sail Away

Anyone remember that song 'sail away' by Enya? God when I was 9 I really loved it. Strange.

Sorry for my horrible face and the bad full length. I'm getting better at this, slowly.

I don't think anyone other than the people who live in this house will get to see this outfit today, maybe some people on the street. I have a ton of work and my boss is letting me work from home (Yesssss)

This outfit is a bit H&M heavy, but I'm pretty pleased with the hoodie/blazer combo, not something I've tried out before.

Blazer - H&M
Hoodie - H&M
Tee - H&M (with some help from my scissors)
Belt - Vintage
Shorts - Motel
Shoes - Primark

Let's love today?

The most amazing video for one the most amazing songs.

You Got Your Bones to Make a Beat

God I'm so dorky.

This is stupidly plain I know, I figured I wouldn't post it, but then I figured HELL, why not?
I'm sure it won't offend anyone...

Some pattern would be nice, but as ever, I'm rubbish at pattern and I really was going for comfort in a big way.
Today was a better day. It feels like this last project for uni will never actually end though.
I'm avoiding things by buying (way) too many clothes and trawling the internet for new ideas. All I want to be doing is running through the streets of Texas at SXSW.

Jacket - Topshop
Jumper - Charity Shop
Belt - Vintage
Dress - Topshop
Brogues - Primark

Closeup of my teacup necklace, I got it online somewhere but I can't for the life of me remember where...

mmmmmmmmm....

This means spring is here right?

Decending into Lunacy

This skirt is wonderfully intricate, it just doesn't show in the photos.

It's just been one of those days.

Don't ever try and publish a book (or do, just don't deal with the nightmarish people I am)

Anyway, this is what I like to call a 'default' outfit. My morning was all over the place so I didn't really have time to deal with it...

I spent a really long time trying to find the perfect tank (not this morning obviously). This white one is it, I love it and it's cashmerey goodness.

Oh and yes, that is my face you can see.

Bra - American Apparel

Oh and quickly this is a close up of the beautiful watch my boyfriend bought me:

I love it and how tiny it is.

On The Real Side.

it's a free download too!

Never quite enough

So as I try and write I'm being pretty much attacked by the cat, I told her to stop, she sulked off and then took a run at my computer/hands in a bid for attention. She has some serious resolve.

Anyway, I apologise for all the cheap clothing, I really hate it when this happens, but sometimes, things just work and I'm pretty pleased with this for today.

The summer is going backwards here it seems, it's getting colder everyday...

Also I'm interested to see HOW comfy these shoes are, 10 minutes in and I have limited hope, maybe I should take a pair of flats to work with me......

Top - Primark
Belt - Urban Outfitters (this belt is lovely but falling apart, DAMN YOU UO)
Jeans - All Saints
Socks - Primark
Sandals - Primark

For those of you wondering, this is Misty, the aforementioned cat.

Duller days

So today I read Rumi Neelys post on the earthquake in Japan, I urge you to read it if you haven't yet, it's, well indescribable. find it here: www.fashiontoast.com
ANYWAY, over to the clothes, no details today, because well, it's not a very detailed outfit (work today you see) I especially like it with my trusty jacket, I bought the shirt at a vintage pop-up shop this weekend and it's the perfect amount of massive, (that or I'm the perfect amount of small...)

Sunglasses - H&M
Earrings - Accessorize
Shirt - Vintage
Top/dress - Primark
Jacket - Topshop
Really really opaque tights - American Apparel
Shoes - Topshop

In all honesty though, I realllly wanted to go out in this, the thought of trying to keep myself all covered up all day whilst working just didn't seem appealing this morning though...(I promise it would look less whorey if I had my jacket on)

Tights - Pretty Polly, Shoes - Topshop

What do you think?

Jewels

Just a few things I very much liked the look of over at Love Hearts and Crosses.

Mostly want this. Although, that sharp end is likely to cause accidents...

Random Discovery

I just found this online comic, pretty sure everything about is amazing.

especially having a cat called shoelace (there's people in it too...)

It's wartime baby

This album was pretty disappointing, but this song is mesmerising...

If words were pictures.

Today it's raining, I think I'll take my trusty leather jacket out for protection. These shorts came the other day, they're the exact same style as the ones I was wearing here only a size bigger. I'm not sure which I prefere, both have their merits, I guess that's what you get for online shopping. (I hate online shopping, I only do it for motel because I love it so.)

This top is the softest thing in the world by the way.

Mesh Bodysuit - American Apparel
Cashmere mix tank - topshop
Shorts - Motel
Belt - Vintage
Brogues - Primark

The universe is shaped exactly like the earth, if you go straight along you end up where you were.

A few snaps of my wrist tattoos, I have one other on my foot but that's for another day...

It's really hard to take descent photos of tattoos, I'm not sure why, but it is.

They're moles not dots by the way...

: )

Who knows what the day may hold

There's something really pleasing about this photo.

Never make the same mistake twice

So despite going out yesterday and finding that ACTUALLY it wasn't warm enough for just a cardi, today I will make the same mistake (with added shirt though..that makes it ok right?).

I've had this dress for like 2 weeks, but just haven't worn it, I have no idea why, I love it SO much (note to self, do not get fatter, you will BUST out of it). There's something about the cut, especially at the neckline that is just so complementary. It's also against my nature to layer like this, I have no idea what inspired me to. I've no idea how the outside world will react to this...

(yes I know I know, those boots, that cardigan, Again, sorry)

Cardigan - Urban Outfitters
Shirt - Primark
Dress - Motel
Tights (with seam at the back) - Primark
Boots - Topshop

Mate of Mine

This is my favourite band in the world. Although in the US I think they're pretty big, over here they're basically unknown.

I love them so much I have a tattoo of one of their lyrics...

This isn't the track I wanted to post, but I love it, and how MAD it is.

Do you have a face?

Ok so I realise no one actually cares, however, I also realise it's kinda odd to post without including your face.

I don't for a varity of reasons. Maybe one day I will, but not yet.
So yeah my reasons (read lame excuses) are:

  • I take the photos myself, because I really hate people taking photos of me, running backwards to be in the photo and posing at the same time? HARD
  • Because I work in a male dominated industry and I don't want people to know it's me, it sounds dumb but it would make them view me differently for sure
  • I'd rather people didn't judge me on my face
  • I like annonimity
  • Because I have a HUGE fear of having my photo taken
Mostly though, this all just comes down to the fact I have a severe distaste for my face. Here are a couple of photos of me however that are both super recent, and not appalling. I know it's kinda hard to connect with someone and their style if you don't even know what they look like. Now you do!

My classic smile/grimace, smoooooth.

Getting ready to actually take a shot, hense being pensive...

Don't Mistake me for a Dancer

Last time I wore sequins I got accused of being an Ice skater. I'm not really sure why, but it kinda put me off wearing them. I've owned this skirt for about 4 years now? For a really long time I didn't know how to wear it, but I think part of it was I was too small and dumpy to pull it off. It does ride up like you wouldn't believe too.

Anyway, I really like wearing this, even more so because it's actaully warm enough not to have to wear a jacket today. I think this Cardigan is my new jacket for spring. It is just THE BEST. So good in so many ways. I've rolled up the sleeves now though...

Blush.

Wow I am BAD at ordering photos, I kinda like this one though, because it almost looks like I'm exchanging glances with myself. Today is pretty boring, until I started this I didn't realise how few of my items are patterned. I'll bear it in mind in future.

This Jumper is my FAVOURITE recent purchase, it's sososo soft, really thin and drapes in the right way (although these photos do not show that at all...). It keeps falling off my shoulder but I've decided not to fight it anymore.

Return of the massive shoes, I'm going to wear them until my toes poke out the bottom, I love them so.
